Knowledge of common infrastructure terms, resources, and concepts is an important first step in your preparation for success with these Tivoli products. Master several key skills you need to perform day-to-day administrative functions. Also, get an introduction to new terminology and concepts associated with administering a Tivoli installation.

Prerequisites
You should have:
* Working knowledge of systems administration concepts for the following systems:
* UNIX (preferably Solaris, AIX or HP-UX)
* Microsoft (MS) Windows (XP, NT, or 2000)
* Working knowledge of windowing software operation on the following platforms:
* UNIX (Openlook, Motif, and Common Desktop Environment (CDE))
* MS Windows (XP, NT, or 2000)
* Familiarity with network concepts, especially TCP/IP
Note: Knowledge of basic UNIX shell commands is strongly recommended. While this course is designed for UNIX and NT, you can apply most knowledge and skills you obtained in this training to any Tivoli-supported client type.
